CJ's public pages skip the commission approval mechanics

CJ Affiliate's own pages describe two monthly payouts and a 1998 founding, but not how a tracked sale becomes a paid commission.

The revenue mechanism

CJ Affiliate connects publishers to a roster of advertiser brands, tracking transactions and paying commissions the advertiser sets, under a legal entity still named Commission Junction. Its own company page, retrieved 16 September 2026, states it was 'Founded in Santa Barbara, California in 1998,' under the name Commission Junction, later shortened to CJ, and is now 'part of Publicis Groupe.' The network's tracking, per its own publisher page, covers transactions 'online to offline, across devices, including mobile and in-app, phone calls, and in-store,' with customizable reporting by commission, conversion rate, device, and audience location.

What the documents show

The publisher page states CJ offers 'dozens of payout currencies and two monthly payouts,' available by direct deposit or through its payments partner Payoneer, without publishing an exact minimum payout threshold on that page. It separately describes the network as 'the industry's trusted leader' for 'over 20 years,' a claim consistent with, if more conservative than, the 1998 founding date on the about page. CJ's general Website Terms and Conditions, updated 23 June 2020, reserve the right to 'change, edit, or delete any documents, information, or other content' on the site 'without notice,' a site-usage contract distinct from the substantive commission agreement a publisher signs at registration.

The assumptions exposed

None of these three public pages state how a tracked transaction actually becomes an approved, payable commission, or on what grounds CJ or an advertiser can reverse one; those mechanics live inside the Publisher Service Agreement presented during account signup, not on the marketing site reviewed for this entry. 'Dozens of payout currencies' describes payment-method reach, not a promise that every advertiser program pays quickly, since CJ's own payout still depends on money moving from the advertiser to CJ first. The self-reported scale figures on CJ's about page are the company's own marketing claims, not an audited or independently verified count of active publishers or brands.

What to check before you rely on it

As an editorial checklist: read the actual Publisher Service Agreement presented at signup rather than relying on the summary pages checked here, confirm the current minimum payout threshold inside the account dashboard, and note the 'without notice' change clause in the site terms when deciding how much weight to put on any one published detail over time.

  • What does my specific Publisher Service Agreement say about how a transaction is approved or reversed?
  • What is the current minimum payout threshold on my CJ account today?
  • Has an advertiser I promote historically paid CJ promptly enough for the stated two monthly payouts to apply to me in practice?

A network's age and scale are not evidence of how quickly, or reliably, a given advertiser inside it actually pays.
